Project Description

 Sustainable socio-economic development necessitates the building of the capacity of local communities and their associations as well as in the recognition, strengthening and appropriate use of local governance systems and structures based on the customs and traditions of affected communities. Community coping mechanisms and support structures need to be strengthened and consolidated for more equitable development.

Projects under this programme are aimed at alliance building, piloting and scaling-up implementation of projects aimed at poverty eradication, business development, promoting and protecting basic human rights and, providing access to good quality information and technology, providing basic social services and informal education, supporting the development of basic infrastructure and an enabling environment for socio-economic development of targeted communities, and influencing socio-economic structures at local and international level. Projects especially target vulnerable women and children using local realities and settings.
